Social Musical Media

The first steps of music sharing are often overlooked. Spotify, Napster, iTunes, and other music distributers do not advertise what helps their sites flourish; the social aspects of communal music sharing is the pick to the guitar strings of these companies. Here are the social steps:

  1. Rick has been listening to an artist.
  2. He shares his music interest with Joderick.
  3. Joderick finds the artist on his choice music distributer.

These three steps I have coined the Social Musical Media (CMM) process. The transaction between steps one and two are the peak of the idea for the creation of this blog. I do not discount the validity of the importance of music distributers, but I do say that the social aspect of the SMM process is the most significant. Therefore, l plan to take hold of the idea that music is best described empirically through the community of musical connoisseurs.
